HVAC Recycling · Sacramento Region

We Pick Up, Recover the Refrigerant, and Pay You for the Metal.

EPA 608 certified HVAC removal and recycling for commercial and industrial jobs across Northern California. Rooftop units, chillers, split systems — we recover the refrigerant on-site and haul the material.

Our Clients

Who We Work With

Any commercial or industrial operation replacing or decommissioning HVAC equipment. If units are coming out, we handle the material — and the refrigerant.

HVAC Contractors

Equipment swap-outs and commercial replacement jobs. We coordinate around your schedule so the old units are gone before you wrap up the site.

Property Managers

Aging rooftop units on commercial properties. We handle refrigerant recovery and material removal so you don't manage a separate hauler on top of the replacement job.

Facility Managers

Industrial and commercial HVAC system upgrades. We assess, schedule, and remove on your timeline with full documentation for your records.

General Contractors

Demo and renovation work that involves HVAC removal. One call covers the equipment — your crew stays focused on the rest of the job.

Schools & Municipalities

System-wide HVAC refresh projects across multiple buildings. We handle volume, coordinate across sites, and provide disposition records for audit files.

Building Owners

Whether it's a single aging chiller or a full rooftop replacement, we assess what your equipment is worth and offset part of your replacement cost.

In the Field

EPA 608 certified and ready to work the day you need us.

Refrigerant recovery, unit removal, and material haul in a single visit. You don't coordinate multiple contractors or manage the sequence.

The Part Most Scrap Yards Skip

EPA 608 Certified Refrigerant Recovery

Most recycling yards won't touch a unit with active refrigerant. They tell you to recover it first — which means hiring a separate tech, scheduling another visit, and adding cost before the material even moves. We don't work that way.

We Recover On-Site

We arrive with certified recovery equipment. Refrigerant is recovered from the unit in place — R-22, R-410A, R-134a, and other common refrigerants — before removal begins. You don't pre-treat, you don't hire anyone else, and you don't delay the job.

Documented for Compliance

Refrigerant recovery is logged and documented — refrigerant type, quantity recovered, and equipment identification. You get the records your compliance team or building inspector may require. Not a verbal confirmation — actual paperwork.

One Crew, One Visit

Refrigerant recovery, unit removal, and material transport happen in a single mobilization. You don't coordinate multiple contractors or manage the sequence. We show up, we handle it, the space is clear.

What We Accept

Commercial and industrial HVAC equipment across all major types. If you're not sure whether your unit qualifies, call us — the worst answer is no.

Rooftop Units (RTUs)

  • Package rooftop units — any tonnage
  • Gas/electric packaged systems
  • Heat pump rooftop units
  • Dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS)

Split Systems

  • Condensers and outdoor units
  • Air handlers and evaporator coils
  • Mini-split systems — any brand
  • Commercial multi-zone split systems

Large Commercial Equipment

  • Chillers — air-cooled and water-cooled
  • Cooling towers
  • Fan coil units
  • Commercial heat pumps

What We Recover — and Pay For

HVAC equipment is metal-dense. Here's what comes out of a typical commercial unit:

Copper

Refrigerant line sets, condenser and evaporator coils, compressor windings

Aluminum

Fin coils, heat exchanger cores, fan blades, sheet metal casings

Steel

Unit frames, housing panels, and structural components

Brass

Service valves, fittings, and manifold components

Electric Motors

Fan and compressor motors recovered whole for commodity value

Why Haynes Industrial

One Call Handles the Whole Removal

Most contractors have to call a refrigerant tech, then figure out material removal separately. We collapse that into a single call — EPA 608 recovery and transport handled together, on your schedule.

  • EPA 608 certified — we recover refrigerant on-site, no pre-work required on your end
  • We pay for recovered metal: copper, aluminum, and steel priced against current commodity rates
  • Same-week scheduling throughout the Sacramento region
  • Compliance documentation for refrigerant recovery and material disposition
  • Crane logistics for rooftop units — we coordinate the lift so you don't manage a separate crew

Straight Answers

Common Questions

Do you handle refrigerant recovery?

Yes — this is our primary differentiator. We are EPA 608 certified and recover refrigerant on-site before any unit is moved. You don't need to hire a separate technician or pre-treat the equipment. Refrigerant recovery is part of the pickup, and we document it for your compliance records.

How do you handle large rooftop units?

We coordinate crane logistics for large RTUs that require lift-off. For rooftop units that need a crane, we arrange the crane and rigging as part of the removal — you don't manage a separate crew. We handle refrigerant recovery, the lift, and material transport in a single mobilization.

Do I get paid for the equipment?

In most cases, yes. Value depends on the unit type, age, and metal content. Larger RTUs and chillers with substantial copper and aluminum recover well against current commodity rates. We'll give you an honest estimate when you describe the equipment — before we schedule anything.

Can you work around an active HVAC replacement job?

Yes — and this is the common case. Your HVAC contractor is pulling equipment; you need it gone before the new units arrive. We coordinate directly with your crew or your contractor to remove equipment as it comes off. Same-week scheduling means we're not a bottleneck in your project timeline.

What about older equipment that might contain asbestos?

Pre-1980s equipment and older insulated ductwork can contain asbestos-containing materials. These require abatement before removal — which we do not perform. If you suspect asbestos-containing insulation or components, have an environmental assessment done first. Call us and we'll walk through what to look for.

Do you handle residential units?

Our focus is commercial and industrial — rooftop units, large split systems, and chillers. We occasionally handle residential equipment in bulk (a property management company clearing multiple units across a property, for example), but we're not a single-unit residential pickup service.

Case Study

36 Commercial Units Decommissioned in 48 Hours

A commercial HVAC contractor had a 48-hour window to clear 36 units before new equipment could be installed. Every unit needed EPA 608 refrigerant recovery first — which typically means a separate technician visit. We handled recovery and removal in a single mobilization and cleared the space on schedule.
